UK House Prices 2007 update
Rising house prices and high interest rates have forced some first-time buyers out of the property market.
In March 2007, the numbers were 8% lower than a year ago at 33,100, and borrowing had reached 3.31 times the current income - a record level previously reached in December.
The Council of Mortgage Lenders have said the proportion of first time buyer's incomes being swallowed up by interest payments was now at its highest level for 15 years.
The ever increasing costs of home-ownership are deterring many first-time buyers from getting on to the property ladder.
NotAnEstateagent.com is the place to be for anyone wishing to buy, sell or rent property. There are no fees involved, and it puts potential property buyers/renters in direct contact with property sellers/landlords.
How it works is the person who wishes to sell or let their property uploads a photo into the correct location category, with a short description and some contact details. A potential buyer, renter of the property can then see the property involved, and if they wish to enquire further they can get in direct contact with the owner and take it from there.
From this point on they would probably wish to hear more about the property and see some more photos of the property. If all is well beyond this point the potential buyer can then arrange to meet the potential seller at a convenient time so that he/she may view the property first hand, and possibly make an offer.
If both parties are happy with the offer and wish to go ahead with the transaction then suitable arrangements can be made. More information regarding the sale of property can be found on our Useful Information page.
Although we are based in the UK, this a a truly global website. We are hoping that people from across the world will visit to buy and sell property. The world is getting smaller as transport is getting faster, and more and more people are looking to buy and sell property abroad. So no matter where you live you are welcome to add your property to this site for FREE!!!!.

Sell my house, buy a house - without an estate agent
When selling a house without an estate agent, you must first decide how much money you want for the property. Many estate agents will do a free valuation, so it is always possible to arrange for two or more local estate agents to provide this information. If you are set against using estate agents you can always find out yourself how much your house is worth by enquiring on the cost of other local houses, or by looking at the local papers, estate agents’ windows and similar houses in the area.
Before naming your price, you should consider doing any repairs or decorating that may make it easier to sell the house.
Arrange for a survey if you think there are any major problems that might affect the value of the house, for example, a roof in a bad state of repair.
You should also decide in advance if you are prepared to include any extras in the sale, for example, curtains, white goods and carpets. These are known as fittings. A price for these can be included in the asking price or a separate price can be arranged between both parties.
It is normal practice for a potential buyer to offer a lower price for the house than the seller is asking. You might therefore want to allow for this by setting your price a little higher than the amount you would like to get.
Estate agent complaints rise by two thirds
A study into the popularity of estate agents has recorded unprecedented levels of customer dissatisfaction, according to latest figures.
The ombudsman for estate agents received more than 8,000 enquiries from angry customers last year compared to 6,021 in 2005 - a year-on-year increase of more than a third - while almost two-thirds of people do not trust estate agents, the survey claims.
